Wedgewood Swim Club remains closed, as per Governor Murphy’s Executive Order, which was extended on May 6th. We are awaiting re-opening orders, guidelines and restrictions, if any. We intend to open the club, if permitted and practicable, but will need to further delay our opening until at least Friday, June 19th.
In an effort to minimize the amount of time it takes to open the club, once permitted, the Board has taken several key steps including:
Established the Safe Opening Subcommittee of the Board;
Developed interim operating procedures to ensure the safety of members and staff;
Coordinated pool, clubhouse and grounds pre-season work;
Purchased anticipated supplies including hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies and masks for personnel;
Coordinated/scheduled in-person training of life guards while reducing class size to ensure the safety of our staff; and
Coordinated with our contracted janitorial company for increased frequency of services
While we remain optimistic that we will be permitted to open the pool with restrictions this summer, we are in a holding pattern, while we await further guidance from the State of NJ. Once guidance is received, we will finalize our operating plans and the financial model to fully understand the impact on the club and our members. While there are many unknowns, please know our Board remains committed to ensuring Wedgewood is able to open safely, if permitted, and is as focused as ever on ensuring value for our members.
We appreciate your patience and all of your support. As soon as we have additional information to share, we will send out an update to the membership.
We hope to see you all soon!
